10th Baltic Earth Sommer School on Askö, Sweden: Learning and having fun

This time, 18 motivated students from around the Baltic Sea region have come together to learn about regional climate change as well as the physical and biochemical conditions in the Baltic Sea. A holistic Earth system approach was presented with a focus on the physical aspects of the changing climate.

In addition to lectures, tutorials and hands-on exercises which were presented by teachers from IOW (Markus Meier, Seven Karsten and Anju Mallissery), Hereon (Sebastian Wagner and Marcus Reckermann) and Södertörn University (Elinor Andren), the course encouraged students to apply and discuss the learned topics further during a group project to work on during the entire week, a fun and stimulating experience.

Askö research station lies in the Swedish skerries and is a beautiful spot to learn, have fun and make friends in an international and interdisciplinary community of young people.
